Petr Yan (16-3) tweeted today that former two-division UFC champion, Henry Cejudo has retired when Yan became the no.1 contender in the bantamweight division.
Cejudo (16-2) has been retired for more than two years. “The Messenger” has retired after his win at UFC 249 over Dominic Cruz. His other notable wins were over Demetrious Johnson, Marlon Moraes and T.J. Dillashaw.
Yan has been in the Octagon in April and controversially lost against Aljamain Sterling, who is now expected do defend his title against T.J. Dillashaw.
Whether Cejudo comes out of retirement and fights Petr Yan remains to be seen.
