Hey, what type of ergometer is that? Note, the resistance and the way the pulley catches can be of great influence on your stroke. Keep up! I started at 39, now 8 years having fun on the water.
The more you hit the water, the more your arm and back muscles will have to hold against the hit. -> Newton’s 3rd law -> you hit the water with a given “A” force, the water will react and will hit back with the same “A” force, which will result, that your paddle can’t catch the water smoothly and air will get between you paddle and the water -> your paddle will jump in the water during the stroke and your stroke will get shorter by ca. 20-30 cms.
Hi! I see that you are a beginner, but it’s no problem. Keep up training. Some tips: don’t hit (the water) at the catch and the more straighten your pulling arm is, the more and longer you can pull.
Hey man, I didnt mean it like that. Its just Im learning too, so trying to see how everyone does it and take what bits i can (no coaches live where i live see).

The paddle will make a “bloop”-sound. Whenever you here that sound, you will know, that you are hitting the water.
Good luck!
