Andrei Arlovski’s post fight interview with Loretta Hunt of Sherdog.com following his fight with Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction’s Day of Reckoning. This video is not my property, It is property of: Sherdog.com Arlovski put on a valiant effort but in the end the heavyweight king pin reigned supreme once again. He did so with a beautifully timed flying knee counter catching Arlovski in mid air with a right hand that left the Belarusian face first in the mat. In the video Andrei admittedly says he wanted something flashy and paid for it. He was having success early with his game plan which was to box with Fedor but he diverted and decided to throw a flying knee which was never part of his game plan and that was his undoing. Prior to this fight Andrei was ranked #2 in the world by many MMA analysts and fans alike, look for him to come back strong, more disciplined and better than ever.

Technicaly speaking Arlowski is pretty strong but I haven’t ever seen him dominate entirely in a fight other than the fight against Emilianenko … Which is weird ….

You’re absolutely right. Fedor just doesn’t match up against some of these other fighters. They are usually bigger, faster, stronger and more accomplished in their profession. But Fedor just has the heart and an unwillingness to lose. He just has to be “okay” at everything else. His heart carries him through

that is a man, he knows he fucked up and he owns up to it. he’s a great fighter. anyone can say otherwise, but he was heavyweight champ and that isn’t accomplished by luck.

I want to speak about my experience with MMA, how I have found this sport, not as fighter but as fan. When I didn’t know much about MMA some friend of my said me about “some russian who terminates everybody”. The first fight i have seen was Fedor against Fujita. At first i thought this is some fighter from the street because of his “unprofessional striking” but something let me to think that he is very successful in his fights. After that i have seen other fights with him and i was right.

Arlovski is a great fighter but you can never take your eye off Fedor. HE can capitalize on any mistake.

@jetliigor Well the thing is this. In AA’s previous fights where be uses that flying knee, he was really pwning his opponents. If you see that Ben Rothwell fight, AA was just pounding Rothwell out before he mixed it up with the flying knee.
It wasn’t the case with Fedor. He was winning by points but wasn’t pummeling him. So..I think AA wrongly timed that knee. That knee is only to be used against opponents who are clearly being pummeled.
AA has no chin.
